The biggest challenge of making assets for FarmVille was simply keeping up with Zynga. As players devoured creative, their graphic expectations become more sophisticated , just a mere 2 years into it’s life cycle, demand was insanely high and Zynga needed outside teams to help maintain quality and output.

What started as a small team meant to patch over outsourcing demand during the holiday season ultimately grew to be a 15+ man team processing the concept, vector, and animation for 30-50 assets a week. With ideas ranging from the Art Deco Cow to the tourist chicken, to creating adorable versions of the deep sea samurai crab. (An animal mostly documented in tapestry paintings!) Pushing forward at a break neck speed, my team became a premiere outsourcer for the company being the only outside company to be trusted with water animals and the premiere choice to generate new animal assets.
